In the midst of Despacito's fame in the year 2017 there were 19 mainly Spanish tracks which made it into the top 100. And in 2020 there were 41. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny for MIA (2018), and Madonna was a part of Maluma in the creation of Medellin. In 2020, a few Reggaeton performers were expressing displeasure about the direction of their genre to the mainstream. But a newer generation like Rauw Alejandro was keen to keep the trend going.
