Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mom is English. She was raised in a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She graduated with a BA in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the academy, she performed in numerous stage productions such as King Henry V playing Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe got her start in acting through a short film called Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had appearances in guest roles in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film of debut came from her role in the Woody Allen 2007 film Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The following year she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on the series 2 and 3. Madekwe starred in the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Her credits in theatre include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' first two seasons as the show's regular. But in May 2013, the news broke that Madekwe will be departing the show following her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. Between 2014 and 2016she appeared in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg on June 2012. Together, they worked on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He was also a part of the cast with Madekwe in Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Her parents Roy and Patty and the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's brothers, who were all very physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summer, so she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She was a dancer. So when she was 2 and a 1/2, she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley was captivated by dance at this age. Ashley continued to dance competitively until her high-school graduation with top divisions like tap, Jazz, Ballet and Pointe. She also competed in Acrobatics, Acrobatics Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and much more. In addition, she won top soloists awards in all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
